AC Variable Frequency Drive Training

MC-700H2

The MC-700H2 Interactive Courseware addresses the following:

  • Proper Installation and Safety
  • Modes of Operation
  • Operating at Factory Settings
  • External Control
  • Using a Frequency Setting Variable Resistor
  • The Relationship Between Frequency, Voltage and RPM
  • Signal Observation
  • Programming through the Parameter Unit
  • Combination External and Parameter Control
  • Computer Control
  • Troubleshooting

Technicians need to know how to program and wire a VFD for external inputs, programming with a parameter unit and control a drive using a computer program. Anything less is unacceptable.

See Datasheet at the bottom of the page for more detailed information.

The MC-700H2-P AC Frequency Control Trainer has been designed to provide a fundamental understanding of Industrial Inverter Control.  Using CBT (Computer Based Training) courseware and a portable panel, the students are introduced to 3-Phase industrial control applications.  The approach is generic, while using the popular Mitsubishi E-500 Series VFD Controller for hands-on wiring and programming.

The panel uses off-the-shelf industrial devices, which when wired together, simulate different control techniques.  Connections are easily made using standard banana style jacks and leads.  The panel is constructed of high impact, laser cut, Lucite.  The panel uses reverse graphics to prevent wear, and is mounted in a high molecular polyethylene molded case with T-Beam valance and three spring loaded handles.

The CBT student courseware is presented in a graphic intensive, multimedia, interactive computer based format.  The courseware includes performance objectives, basic concepts,  related information, step-by-step exercise procedures and quizzes.  The course is also divided into two distinctive parts;  Basic and Advanced Knowledge.  At the completion of each sub-course, the student will be introduced to a "Maintenance Work Order", requiring them to solve a particular control problem using the knowledge they have just learned.

Safety is of primary concern.  The student is protected through the use of an emergency switch, tip protected power leads and quick-disconnect fuses.  A keyed master switch allows the instructor to check wiring and any programming formats before the panel is energized.

The MC-700H2 Training System consists of a simulation panel with a Mitsubishi E-500 Inverter, Interactive Student Activity Manual (on CD), Inverter Control Software, Instructor's Guide, Mitsubishi Operator's Manual and a Textbook - "Electronics Variable Speed Drives" by Michael Brumbach.
